## What is Caucus Night?
Join fellow Minneapolis DFL members, volunteers, and organizers for precinct caucuses in your neighborhood of Minneapolis. This is the first step in selecting delegates and alternates to endorse candidates for city office at your local Ward Convention and the Minneapolis DFL City Convention on July 19 and July 20.
## What should I expect at my local precinct caucus?
Your caucus will convene, or start its meeting, at 7 pm just like over 130 other precinct caucus meetings across the city of Minneapolis. Local attendees will choose a member to lead the meeting. Then members will elect a number of delegates to the Ward Convention, and usually a smaller number to the City Convention. Those delegates and alternates will represent you at those conventions. There are no policy action resolutions in 2025 to be voted on, but attendees may share them with you.
## What should I bring with me?
Wear comfortable clothing depending on the weather. Meetings are indoors. We recommend bringing a smartphone battery and a water bottle with your favorite hydrating beverage. You may want to bring a favorite pen or candidate materials as well. If there are paper ballots, your convener will have basic pens.
